If by any chance you have been following me on instagram you know that I am with my family in Palm Springs staying with friends. Today I spent a looooong day with Pete, the kids and our dear friends at Disneyland. For you parents who have taken your little kiddies for a looooong day at Disneyland, you will understand where this lovely cocktail comes into play….

Meyer Lemon Drop

Palm Springs is over run with incredible ripe citrus at this time of year, but I even found Meyer Lemons in bulk at Coscto in Seattle- so they are certainly more widely available. I love Meyer Lemons, and feel like they are almost a combination of lemons and oranges. Or maybe lemons and grapefruits? Anyways- they are not “just” lemons, but have a more in depth flavor to them.

Meyer Lemon Drop

So, that little change makes these old fashioned Lemon Drop style cocktails just a little more interesting, and certainly festive worthy for New Years Eve on Tuesday! I hope that you are all having an awesome Holidays and please head back tomorrow for MY VERY LAST POST OF 2013!!!! (ahhhhhh!!!! I am kind of freaking out over that….) And then stay tuned for New Years Day fun and one delectable breakfast…..
