Happy Thirsty Thursday!!! I am sharing this unusual frozen margarita in honor of Cinco De Mayo (which is tomorrow) and just because I LOVE margaritas.

When we were in Mexico a few months ago, there were delightful people that passed little samples out at the pool of whatever cocktail was on tap that day. And one of those days, it happened to be strawberry basil margaritas. I was kind of dubious, but obviously accepted the free boozey sample and was promptly proved wrong. It was wonderful. Not too sweet, really refreshing and with just a hint of that wonderful herbal basil at the end.

I knew that I had to recreate it when I got home and I finally got the chance yesterday. Seattle, after 7 months of ominous, dark, rainy weather broke out with a crazy, sunny, humid 75 degree beautiful day. I’m not saying it lasted into today (there is a thick blanket of fog over the city right now) but I did enjoy it while it was here!

Plus, you do not need hot weather to drink margaritas. That is a fact! I have to note that I also added fresh watermelon to the mix, because I liked how it gave the moisture it needed to blend, without adding additional liquid- plus it cuts some of the sweetness of the agave and is so refreshing.

Ok- one more thing- I was planning to do my facebook live today at 1pm PT, but I have to move it to 3pm PT- because, you know- real life. But I hope to see you then for Tacos and Margaritas!!
