Place the eggs in a pot or saucepan where they can be in a single layer. Cover them with cold water, and bring it to a boil. Immediately take them off of the heat, cover the pot with a lid, and let sit 1-2 minutes (depending on how soft you like the yolk). Serve the egg in an egg cup in its shell, which you can cut the top off of with a knife. Serve with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
