Hawaii

We just got back from 6 days at Hualalai on the big Island in Hawaii. It was so quiet and so relaxing.

Hualalai

If you were following me on instagram, it probably seemed like I was just there drinking (which I was) but I also spent a ton of time with the girls and Pete. I read books and slept a freakish 9 hours a night and ate French fries at most meals. It was lovely.

I loved getting to see the sun set every night over the water, and then the most amazing thing was the stars. There is pretty much no light pollution there, so the stars were absolutely unreal. I tried to remember all of the constellations from childhood until we realized that there was an app for that…. (of course) and then we were able to really find them.

Sunset in Hawaii

Out of all the time though, Pete and would I am sure agree that watching the girls have fun was the best part of the trip.

You guys- Pia is pale like her mother and I spent the whole time chasing her around with sunscreen and a hat. And then Coco and her dad, despite my crazy sunscreen applications to them both, are brown as a nut. Just SO tan.

Pia and Coco

I also love coming home from vacation. Wilbur was besides himself to see us and the garden is growing like crazy which absolutely thrills me! The climbing roses are starting to bloom, and the lettuce and herbs are filling in. And the Peony trees are in full bloom. Love it and can’t wait for the vegetables I planted to start taking action!
