-So we are back from New York and are still living at my mom and dads house. Oh gosh, my poor parents. This is one of those things where it was supposed to take just a couple weeks and now it’s been almost 2 months. It will either be another week or maybe two weeks. We can’t wait to get back in- just because, well, we have been living out of suitcases for months! And there is nothing like your own space and stuff, but in the mean time, we couldn’t be luckier to stay at my parents. Same house I grew up in. The kids are staying in the nursery room that my little brother and I slept in as little children and Pete and I are in the room that I slept in for highschool and college. Weird….

-Also, my mom has been growing all of these different types of chili’s in the garden this summer. One plant has been especially plentiful in it’s long green chili’s, but we just haven’t been eating them. My mom just kept trying to get me to eat them and she told me they were anaheims. They didn’t exactly look like anaheims, but when you are growing heirloom organic peppers, maybe they just look different? right? So my mom finally fried them up, and salted them and I popped one in my  mouth. About 15  seconds later I thought I might actually die. I started crying. It was EXCRUCIATING. I know that milk helps it, BUT I’m Allergic. Bread can help, BUT I’m allergic. I was just crying and frantic and chugging water and ice and thought I might actually lose my mind. I felt like the guy on Man vs Food. Then my babysitter who was over watching in horror with everyone else googled what to do and pull rout a bag of sugar. I put three tablespoons of sugar in my mouth and held it there (this is about 5 minutes into the hell) and it actually took the worst out of the burn. So that was just a fun story to tell you that

1) My mom had no freaking idea what kind of peppers those really were. oops.

2) If you ever find yourself in this situation, sugar can take the burn out of a burn.

-Even though we have a few more weeks until school starts (we have a late start this year) Pia and I just sat down and picked out all of her new uniforms for this year. I was beyond relieved that she just wears uniforms and we don’t have to a) purchase a whole new back to school wardrobe and b) there will be no fights about what is appropriate or not insane to wear to school. But then I realized that she is also desperate to create her own little style and painstakingly chose her shoes and coat and the tiny little accessories that she is allowed to wear with her uniform. Pia is serious about her style, and it is much, much better than mine was at that age. She has slacked off on her blog this summer, but is going to start adding fashion to it soon since that is her new “thing” I will let you know when she does that for some giggles 🙂

-Major healthy eating over the next few weeks is happening. MAJOR.

If I am going to eat healthy, I might as well get back in the saddle with my working out too. Sigh. I really have slacked off since I went to Greece. I guess it is time to find my fitbit again and get to it. I’m hoping I can take care of the next month of nice weather before thing inevitably cool down and walk a lot. What’s your favorite workout right now?

I might be trying to eat super healthy this week, but there is always eye candy! Here are some of my favorite droolworthy links for the week:

This Burrata and Stone Fruit Salad is absolutely stunning. I am obsessed with the colors.

Sour Cherry Berry Crisp sounds like something I would like to shove in my mouth.

Grilled Salmon with Pickled Huckleberries is just so pretty and elegant, I would entertain with this beautiful dish.

Big Cluster Peanut Butter Granola just looks so yummy.

Grilled Zucchini and Corn Tostadas are exactly what I want to eat for dinner.

Roasted Heirloom Tomato and Green Bean Salad with Fried Calabrese Sweet Cherries and Burrata. Enough said.
