So I have to start by saying that I am still in shock at how unbelievably supportive and awesome everyone has been about my cutthroat kitchen win. I love that people enjoyed the show and felt like they got to kind of see how I am in “Real Life.”
Because competing in insane challenges on Cutthroat Kitchen was totally real life, right?! But in all seriousness, thank you so, so much. It means a lot to me that so many of you watched and let me know that you had fun with it. XOXO
*Also, because lots of you have asked you can watch it on-demand, and on youtube as well as download it from Itunes. The episode is called I Like My Peppers Pulverized
My speaking engagement on Monday Night was one of the most fulfilling things I have done in quite some time. I got to talk to a group about our journey with food allergies and how we now eat and live deliciously without really missing a thing! I took them through, meal by meal and snacks through desserts and showed them how we do it. Everyone there was either trying to eat that way themselves or had a family member with an allergy or intolerance. Lots of people with arthritis trying to reduce inflammation with their diet. I was most touched by a few sets of grandparents that had come to listen because they have grandchildren with food allergies. I thought that was so responsible and caring of them to want to know more about how they can help. I really would love to do more of that kind of speaking- it was the best ever to feel as though I was actually helping people.
Mary Poppins the 15 minute Musical. Incredible. Pia starred as Mary Poppins and Coco made the cutest penguin ever. Musical Theatre is now finished for the summer.
Beyonce and Jay-Z Wednesday night. I just can’t get over what incredible performers they are. I mean seriously. We had really great seats, and I am telling you- she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. And really tiny up close. But the legs and the butt. OMG- totally insane. I have to get to the gym. And then the costumes, the music the DANCING!!! It was so worth the experience. Although I had the most horrible ringing in my ears the next day and completely muffled hearing.
That leads me to my next OMG thing: I looked up ringing ears on Wikipedia and #1totally worked. AMAZING!!
Drug Store Makeup: I had a binge this week, and now I have to tell you the things that I am obsessed with:
Revlon colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious and Sweetheart.
Also, NYX roll-on shimmer eye shadow. I bought like 4 colors and I love them all.
Also NYX eye highlighter crayon in ‘cottage cheese” (um, WORST name EVER!!!) but a really pretty color.
OK. I will stop with all of the babbling and give you my top favorite drool worthy links from this weeks web!
Red Currant Clafoutis are so beautiful.
Sweet Corn and Peach and Cherry Salad. This is exactly what I want to eat right now.
Aviation. This cocktail is stunning.
Spiced Lamb Burgers with Apricot Chutney and pistachio feta pesto. I mean, YUM.
Stacked Green Pig Sandwich. Just look at how glorious this is.

I am still in awe of your Cutthroat performance. Heather, you AMAZE me! 🙂 And I would love to hear your speak someday!
Thanks for the shout out and have a great Sunday!
Seriously, I don’t think very many people understand the havoc allergies can play on children and adults alike. My husband is incredibly allergic to canola oil and was nearly done in while in the hospital because they didn’t take it seriously! The dietitian argued with him and nurses made fun of him until it got beyond serious. They then apologized but not before it caused serious surgical complications. Having you address living with allergies in a practical way is a public service. My extremely dairy allergy, forget about lactose intolerant, granddaughter is here and I was a mad woman reading labels in Trader Joe’s to stock up. I was a nervous wreck! And now I’m off to watch I Like My Peppers Pulverized!
