Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

These are obscene. Obscenely delicious that is.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

I ate three of these. Then I texted a picture of them to my girlfriend that said “I wonder why I complain about my thighs?”

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

They were just so pillowy light and fluffy, with layers of crackly vanilla glaze, oozing raspberry jam and creamy peanut butter glaze that should really be classified as more of a glossy frosting.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

Peanut Butter and Jelly is the ultimate combination as far as I am concerned. It is the most comforting, nostalgic and perfectly balanced pairing ever. And now I shoved it into a donut.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

I recommend eating these with a cold glass of milk. It is almost a necessity.

To make these:

Prepare the donuts according to this recipe, including a dunk in the glaze (although I didn’t brown the butter for the glaze recipe).

Fill a pastry bag or squeezy bottle with the raspberry jam. Insert the jam into the side of the donut and gently squeeze some in. I then flip the donut around and squeeze some in on the other side too.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

When all of the donuts are injected with jam, prepare the peanut butter glaze.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts

In a medium bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, powdered sugar and cream. You can adjust the consistency with a touch more cream or powdered sugar (to be thinner or thicker).

Dunk the donuts into the peanut butter glaze and set aside to let the glaze firm up.
