Happy Fourth of July Weekend Everyone!!
I hope that you are reading this from your phone somewhere while you are lying in a sleeping bag in a tent on your camping trip, or while you lounge in the sun next to a glimmering lake, or while you drink Spicy Peach Lemonade in your back yard. Isn’t that the kind of stuff you just crave to be doing on this Holiday weekend? I do.
I also crave barbeque. Specifically I crave Ribs.
I thought I would make a special rib recipe for you, not realizing that it would spiral into the most insanely delicious barbequed ribs EVER.
We have so many cherries in the markets right now, and I always love the combination of fruit and spice, which led me to this absolutely unbelievable Cherry Jalapeno Barbeque Sauce. It is so seriously mouthwateringly delicious.
I know this is a little late notice, but you have still have a full day or two to get this dish together for your weekend festivities, and no one will be able to believe how great this is. Have a wonderful Weekend and spend lots of time with your family and friends celebrating this great country of ours ☺

Instructions
- To make the BBQ Sauce:
- In a large pot, combine the oil, onions and jalapenos over high heat. Cook, stirring often for 15 minutes, browning the onions. Add the Whiskey and deglaze the pan.
- Add the cherries and continue to cook, another 5 minutes. Add the content to the jar of a blender and puree until smooth. Add back to the pot.
- Add the tomato sauce and the molasses, sugar, chili powder and cayenne. Stir well to combine, add a lid and bring to a simmer on lowest heat. Simmer on lowest heat for up to all day, making sure that you stir often. Season to taste before serving.
- Preheat the oven to 225 degrees.
- Combine all of the spices in a small bowl. Place each rack of ribs on a separate sheet pan and generously rub each one with the spice rub. Place the ribs in the oven and bake at 225 degrees for 6 hours.
- Prepare a grill to medium heat.
- Brush the ribs with the sauce. Grill on each side for about 5 minutes. Move to a cutting board and slice. Slather on more sauce and then serve additional sauce on the side.

Yep, I wish I was reading it from one of those places, but the reality is a 1-year-old in that situation — too hard. That said, I’m at home next to the diaper-wearing rascal. The upside of that is I love BBQ to so this is on the weekend to-make list.
