Green and Pink Baby Shower
When one of my oldest and dearest friends Missy found out that she was pregnant, I jumped at the chance to throw her a baby shower! I am so excited for her and her husband and of course her mother, who is ready to become a first time grandmother! They are expecting a little baby girl, which for me meant one thing. Pink.
It all started with the invitations, which were adorable in shades of pink and bright green.
The flowers were all pink. There were hundreds of pink carnations, clustered into mounds, and also clustered into the shape of a heart.
There were also vases everywhere filled with bright pink tulips.
And then there were the paper flowers! They hung, along with pale pink paper hearts, from the ceiling above one of the buffets.
I had two buffets, one filled with savory bites, and the other brimming with sweets. Each thing to eat, on both buffets, was marked with a tag, in the same pattern as the invitations. Those tags were stuck in pots of wheatgrass.
The savory buffet was spread over a bright, grassy green silk tablecloth. I made only food that fit into the color theme, (only a small challenge!) Everything was in shades of pink and green and white and black.
I did the same on the dessert buffet, which was spread with a pale pink silk cloth. On both buffets I used bright white platters and white cake plates. The dessert plates were assorted pink and green and white polka dots with butterflies. I used clear Lucite and green flatwear.

Such an elegant theme for a baby shower.

Everything is so perfect!!!! Beautiful.
WOW!
Oh my goodness, I am IN HEAVEN!! How gorgeous!! Makes me want to have another baby so I can bribe someone into throwing me this same shower . . . 😉
Heather- Amazing! This is beautiful!
Wow! This is beautiful! You pulled the color scheme off wonderfully with the food!
can you share the recipe for those lime bars? they look amazing! 🙂
it is ready for a post tomorrow!
I just discovered your blog and am ADDICTED! You are very talented….thanks for sharing all of your ideas and photos. BTW, where did you get the rectangular plates on this buffet table. I LOVE them…..
you are SO nice! Thank you! I got those at Crate and Barrel. We were having another party and the thought of renting was too much. I bought 8 of those platters, and they have been the best investment EVER. i use them to death. Good for a buffet or to pile dinner on for the kitchen table during the week. Easy and well priced
Absolutely lovely baby shower!!! Where did you purchase those glass drink dispensers? I’ve been trying to look for some nice looking ones but they all seem very generic. I LOVE your blog. Thanks for posting!!!
LOVE it! A friend and I are planning a pink and green shower, and I’ve been getting ideas for food to go with the theme. Do you remember where you got the recipe for the lime bars??
Yes! they are on my site! Just search under “lime bars”!
I was lucky enough to attend, everything was beautiful and delicious Heather!! Thank you again and we were blessed with a warm day!
is it possible to get recipes? Looks awesome and I love doing parties like this…
GORGEOUS, such great attention to detail. Can you post your recipe for for the baby red potatoes w/ creme fraiche and caviar, as well as some caviar recommendations? I’ve never used caviar before, much less tasted it, but I’d love to have a super-swanky addition to my Oscar Party, and this is PERFECT!!!
May I ask where you got the tulip arrangement from?
Hi Mona- I made it 🙂
