Fourth of July Party Decorations
I am going to be posting Ideas and recipes every day between now and the Fourth of July! I know it is a wonderful opportunity for you to entertain friends and family. Hopefully the weather will be fabulous, and you can take everything outdoors. The menu is below. Even though I will post a recipe or two everyday, the whole menu is there so you can plan ahead. It will also be posted in it’s entirety at FitnessMagazine.com this Thursday!
I created a family friendly menu, that is convenient for the outdoors and for crowds. I know that I have mentioned requests for picnic and easily transportable food- so I have obliged! I will also post additional back recipes from myself and others so you have great options for whatever your tastes are this Holiday!
Then there are the decorations! This was an attempt to not go to cliché with the Fourth of July PartyDecorations, while still staying true to the good old Red White and Blue!
It is amazing how a few strategic splashes of pattern and color go a long way towards creating a really fun and festive Fourth of July dinner table and setting the scene for the night.
I used a simple blue tablecloth and stark white dishes. The flatware was wrapped in crisp white dinner napkins and tied with a thick red and white striped grograin ribbon. I used blue and white gingham ramekins for the condiments and I found adorable blue and white star print cocktail napkins to serve with the drinks and appetizers.
The glasses have adorable rounds of colorful filo dough blown right into the glass. They reminded me of little fireworks!
The flowers are the most spectacular part of the table! All of the flowers were purchased at the farmers market and are available all over the country in early July. I chose each of them for their color and their amazing ability to resemble fireworks!
There are white Lupins, Blue Delphinium, Red Poppies, Red Sweetpeas, and Blue Bachelors Buttons (sometimes called cornflowers).
Menu:
Cherry Mint Lemonade
Grilled Clams with Tomatillo Bacon Salsa
Fresh Corn Salad with Mango
Orzo Salad with Cherries, Feta and Almonds
Chicken Burgers with Peach Mustard
Coconut Sorbet with Fresh Raspberries

working on my proposal right now Vicki! Hopefully next year 🙂
Everything looks so beautiful. I love how you’ve created the Fourth of July theme without all the “busy-ness” of typical Fourth of July paper goods. Simple and yet so elegant!
Thanks so much Jennifer!!
Could you please tell where you get your beautiful holiday dishes? I am in love with the ceramic berry baskets. Thanks.
Yes! I picked those up at crate and barrel last week, so they should certainly still be there! cute, huh?
I will have to head to Crate and Barrel. Your ideas are so beautiful, the opportunity to copy is great. Thanks.
Carmel- you just put into words how I want you to feel- like you can do it, and it won’t be a big deal! 🙂

I love this! I love all your ideas! If they don’t give you a great deal for a book and beg you to do a cooking/entertaining show then they are just nuts!
