I know. I know, I know. I’m sorry. No I’m not.
I just needed these right after I saw snow in the forecast. I was sunny today, but it was deceptive sunny, like you throw the windows open to breathe in the warm breeze, and then you freeze your tushie off and run and slam them closed. I am still waiting to see if it actually snows today.
I’m taking my girls ad hopping a flight early tomorrow morning and heading to LA to soak up some sun. Or so we thought!! Now it is going to rain there. REALLY!???
Anyways, as if I am alone. I know everyone is in the same never ending winter, so I will stop complaining and just give you some medicine. This prescription comes in the form of Brown Butter Fried Nutella Banana Croissant Sandwiches. A few weeks ago I saw this and promptly freaked out and have not been able to get over it!!! So I had to get my croissant dessert on.
These are very, very naughty, and you will enjoy them thoroughly. Have a great weekend!
To make these, this is what you do:
Spread the 2 tablespoons nutella over the bottom half of each croissant.
Top the nutella with the bananas, and then the top of the croissant.
In a skillet or heavy pan, melt the butter and gently cook over medium heat until browned.
Add the croissants to the pan and cook until crispy on both sides and the nutella is melted.
I gently pushed down on the sandwiches squishing them together. If you need to cook in batches, then repeat.
Enjoy hot or warm!

haha!! thanks Averie- you are the best!
O.M.G.!!! You have really outdone yourself this time! I could live the rest of my life on these.
Oh Vicki, I’m so glad you like them 🙂
Oh, you just make me laugh…(my first response was “holy cr*** woman, you be crazy!”). You are making me almost enjoy our lingering winter from hell, with your medicinal use of grilled cheese, soup, and now Nutella. These are insanely fantastic-looking. Are you sure you need only 12 Tbsp of Nutella? Don’t you think 2 jars would be better? So you could eat one jar free-bird with a spoon, and use the other jar to slather on top of the finished toasty sandwiches? Or just save it for the blood sugar drop later on? Why don’t they make big economy-size jars of Nutella? I wonder how many days in a row I can eat these before I tire of them, or die, or the world supply of Nutella runs out….. Good luck getting outta Dodge! And thanks again for making me laugh!
Actually Nancy- they sell extra large jars of Nutella at Costco! So happy to here that you are enjoying my sick deranged idea of comfort food 🙂

roughly a million Kathy 🙂
Hi Heather,
Are you going to kill the gas when cooking the croissants o keep ’em running (still medium or low)? Butter tend to burn quick so I’m not sure what to do.
Also, other than banana which you think works best with this?
Planning to do this at home and need your advice.
Thank you so much!
I left the heat on medium Jenny, but just turn it to low if you are nervous- every range is different!
How do I make the croissant
NoOon, you just purchase them 🙂
Whaaaat? These is like an oozing pile of deliciousness.
Where has this sandwich been all my life?!
Yup. I’m having the healthier version for breakfast tomorrow.
English muffin… not fried… but add peanut butter.
Yup. Definitely.
Are these for real? I think I’m dreaming! These are going straight to our must make cheat day treat list! Thanks!
