So I did something kind of interesting for me this last weekend. I set up a desk. I am traditionally a nomadic worker. The kitchen counter, the breakfast table, an arm chair, bed…. They have all been my office. But I haven’t had a real office since, well I had Coco and I had to give it up for the baby! Well as I am tackling the writing part of my book I am working on, I thought I should probably try to get a little more organized and structured (an amazing feat if you know me!) So I set up a desk in our family room and I have been sitting here all week. I have to admit I have gotten an exponentially greater amount of work done than usual. It’s actually gloriously quiet and I am just glossing right over the fact that I am in the dark basement in the corner. Because I am just focusing on how functional my new “office is” (I will share some pictures soon!)
So this week we have tons of work going on and then we are flooded with Superbowl coverage because Pete feels that it is totally appropriate to have the NFL station on from 5AM on and I am not exaggerating- it’s seriously on when I come down at 6. In fact he says he has even had it on at the office all day too. We are not addicts- just super fans. We are also in the throes of the little girls getting ready for their Musical auditions. So all they are doing is spouting shell Silverstein Poems (remember those!? My VERY favorite from childhood) and singing frozen songs. Still with the frozen songs.
I am also trying to think ahead a few days to what I am making on Sunday for our Superbowl party. And what you might want to make? That’s where these fairly ridiculous tacos come in.
I had to call them Kitchen Sink Tacos because they have a little of everything going on. Really, a little of everything.
Avocado, fresh jalapenos, FRENCH FRIES, pickled red onions, crispy fried shrimp and a crunchy slaw. Then I topped it with hot sauce.
It’s pretty much the best thing ever. (And by the way- STILL no gluten, dairy, egg or soy!!)

Yay for a real desk! I’m about to give my office up for baby. I’m now working on the dining room table. I hope this doesn’t last!
And yay for tacos! And Shel Silverstein poems–the BEST! 🙂
Oh shoot! It’s hard to get displaced from your office- just set up some “regular space” -of course I am sure that you are far more organized than I am!
Ha! A real desk/office is a great thing!! Mmmmm. These tacos look delish!
These look fantastic! BTW: I ordered and received your cookbook last night. Read it from cover to cover and can’t wait to try out virtually all of the recipes. Cheers!
OMG Courtney! thank you so much!!!
These look great! I have never thought of fries in tacos, looks fantastic!
Kitchen siink anything is always a winner in my book, it’s a great way to clear a fridge, but these tacos – YES!!! please.
Ohhh I can’t wait to see your office photos! These tacos need to be on a plate in front of me. I just ate some for lunch but I can totally use another one of these babies!
French fries on everything!!! I’m a huge fan; in the middle east fries are in falafel sandwiches, too.
Also, hooray for productivity in your new workspace!
Why is your family room in the basement?
Ha! Just kidding. Love the addition of FF’s on these tacos. We have a pizza place here in NY that does a cheeseburger pizza and they put FF’s on it, too! Fun!
Yah, I could go for these today! Looks amazing!!!
These tacos look killer, perfect for game day!
My desk is the table in the Dining room. Maybe eventually I will have a room dedicated as my office. I love fish tacos, I try to make them once a week.
YUM. These look amazing!!
