Happy, Happy Friday Guys! (And Happy Birthday Mom!!!) I have rarely been this excited to get to the weekend, and I can’t wait to spend it with my family. With the weather at it’s finest here in Seattle, we are doing nothing but hanging outside, including eating and grilling outside too.
Tonight, for my moms birthday we are all celebrating at our house, and I am in charge of the main course. I am thinking that this tahini glazed salmon is the way to go. The tahini glaze is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G on the tender grilled salmon and is then matched up with the fresh, crunchy cucumber noodle salad with a delicious, tangy tahini vinaigrette.
You gotta try this as soon as possible! It is awesome as a healthy weeknight dinner or you can make a much bigger recipe for a crowd like I am doing tonight! Enjoy your weekend…
Recipe: Grilled Tahini Glazed Salmon with Cucumber Noodles
Ingredients
- 1 pound salmon filet (about four 4 ounces portions)
- Tahini Maple Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sambal (garlic-chili sauce)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon tamari (gluten free soy sauce or coconut amino acids)
- For the Vinaigrette:
- ¼ cup rice wine vinegar (Plus above sauce)
- For The Noodles:
- 1 large English cucumber, turned into noodles (I used a vegetable spiralizer)
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium high.
- On a sheet pan covered in foil, set the salmon filets directly on the foil.
- In the jar of a blender, combine the ingredients for the Tahini Maple Glaze and puree on high until smooth.
- Take 4 tablespoons of the tahini sauce and glaze the salmon with it.
- Leave the remaining tahini sauce in the blender and add ¼ cup rice wine vinegar. Puree until smooth and then set aside.
- Place the sheet of foil with the salmon filets directly onto the grill. Cook the salmon for 10-12 minutes or until the fish is just barely cooked through.
- While the fish is cooking, in a large bowl, toss the cucumber with the vinaigrette (you may have extra dressing left over) and the sesame seeds.
- Serve the grilled salmon on top of the dressed cucumber noodles.

I love Salmon and adding the gorgeousness of Tahini just sends it right over. The idea of using cucumber for noodles is brilliant. Thank you for a fab recipe. Pinned!! Sammie x http://www.feastingisfun.com
Thank you Sammie!! I am obsessed with the cucumber noodles- they have to become a staple around here!
What a great summer dish and that maple tahini sauce sounds fabulous!
thanks Kevin- it is seriously good!!
YES!! This is such a gorg dish to make for mom!! Enjoy your weekend..I’m with ya. Need it bad!
I love cucumber noodles! Great summer meal!
Can’t beat summers in Seattle…and that salmon!!
I was looking for a salmon recipe last night and came across this one. OMG it was fantastic!
I didn’t have any way to make cucumber noodles so I used some leftover pasta. That along with some pan seared broccoli and then glazed with the dressing was awesome.
I’ll be making this again and thinking of other ways to use your yummy tahini sauce!
This recipe sounds delicious, but Sanbal and Tamari??? Condiments I may not use for any other recipe! No thank you! I have neither the cupboard space or the desire to stock exotic spices.
I find this recipe very confusing. Saw it in the magazine and could not understand if the marinade was to be cooked with the glaze or separate. Looked up the recipe on google and find the recipe to be different again. The glaze is very thick and appears to need much more liquid to bee a transparent glaze for brushing on the salmon. Can you help?
Hi Lee, the marinade would be cooked on the salmon. If you have really thick tahini (some is runny and some is very thick), that could have made the glaze too thick. Just thin it out with a little water.
This has become a weekly favourite in our house! We will switch up the noodles to different types sometimes and we usually add some broccoli. We’ve also tried it with shrimp and it was equally delicious! Thank you!
That is so great to hear Amy! Thank yoU!
