I cannot express to you enough how delicious this dip is.
I was blessed with my mother-in-law being over to cook last week. When she left, I had extra feta in the fridge and a whole host of fresh herbs. I was trying to think about what I could make with all of these Greek inspired flavors, when this creamy, salty, zesty dip popped into my brain.
The flavors in this Feta cheese Dip are bright and strong and wildly delicious.
I love to use this as a dip, a spread or by the spoonful. Just kidding- I am not that out of control 😉
Feta Cheese Dip, makes 2 cups
¾ pound Feta cheese, broken into pieces
2 green onions, chopped
1 fresh red chili, stem removed, chopped
2 Tbs dill
2 Tbs oregano
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
¼ cup olive oil
1) In the bowl of a food processor, combine the feta, green onion, chili and herbs.
2) Pulse until the cheese is well combined.
3) Add the olive oil and lemon juice and puree until smooth.
4) Transfer the dip to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
5) Serve with crostini or pita bread.

OMG this looks wonderful. My mouth is already watering for it!!!!! Thank you!
it is drool worthy- I swear!
I am having about 15 people over tomorrow for a wine and cheese gathering and I am definitely adding this to my menu. I’m a big fan of feta!
Oh good! People will love it- it is so addictive!
That sounds so good!
Oh this sounds amazing. What kind of pepper should I buy at the grocery store?
I use a red fresno chili- they look like the red jalapeno.
YUM – sounds and looks fabulous!! I could eat that for breakfast right now …
me too. on a crusty baguette with a fried egg. sigh.
TOTALLY Sista! YUMMERS!!!
this takes “dip” to a whole new level. this is going on the summer picnic must haves! looks heavenly, Heather!
thanks Susan!
What a surprise! Soooo much more exciting than another Tuscan white bean dip or ricotta spread.
What do you think about serving it along with some chopped Kalamata olives?
Nobody is going to stop me from making this for brunch this Sunday!
think that the olives would be a divine addition Kelley!
You’re making me hungry, Heather! Have you tried baking that mixture? I love baking feta and ricotta for simple apps.
um no, but i will be now!
Cheesy dip is always wonderful in my book…lately I’ve been really in to feta…I just dump it all over my salads…so creamy and tart. I bet this was one delicious dip to consume!
This looks delicious – I would take those crostini and put them under the broiler for a couple of minutes for a hot treat
I see nothing wrong with ‘by the spoonful’
I love feta cheese, this is a great way to use it!
Feta cheese is my all time favorite. It reminds me of childhood. We would call feta cheese, “Grandpa cheese” because grandpa loved making pita and feta sandwiches.
Totally spoon worthy. 😉
Lovely rendition of a spring time dip. Thanks for sharing!
Uh oh…so eating with a spoon would be out of control? I might be in trouble. Looks yummalicious!
Just wondering if this would work with a good Sauterne wine?? A good friend introduced me to the pairing of feta dip and Sauterne but didn’t give me the recipe. hmmm
Interesting! The salty with the sweet?? Works for me!
Thanks for this recipe! Came across it when I discovered I had 2 lbs. of feta I needed to use up. Threw in some backyard herbs and I was in business. Lovely. 🙂
