These are just plain easy. And really pretty. Also- I always forget how good rice krispy treats are- don’t you? I feel like I could just sit down with a whole tray of them they are so good. Then again, maybe that’s why I don’t make them often.
This is my Christmas version of those old school treats. Dried cranberries, pistachios and both white and dark chocolate make these crispy, chewy Christmas krispy treats festive and delicious!
I am busy snuggling my little girls who I have been away from all week and soaking up the Christmas season while simultaneously shoving these in my mouth. Hope you are enjoying your weekend too ☺
Butter or spray with cooking spray a 9×13 inch pan.
In a large pot, gently melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and continue to stir over low heat until they are all melted.
Pull the pot off of the heat and immediately add the rice krispies and stir well. Gently stir in the white chocolate chips, cranberries and pistachios until they are well combined into the treats.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and using a spatula, press the mixture down flat into the baking dish.
When the Krispy treats have cooled completely, pour the white chocolate over the top and using a spatula spread it evenly. Let them cool and set up further, about an hour.
Using a sharp knife, slice the treats into desired size bars (I cut them into 24 bars).
Remove them from the pan and drizzle them with the melted dark chocolate using a fork. Let the chocolate set up (an hour) and then serve or freeze.
