Strawberry Rhubarb Margaritas
Hellllooooooo Thirsty Thursday!!!!!!
In honor of Spring and this weekends Cinco De Mayo, I had to blend a little of both.
Rhubarb and Tequila.
Then I felt like adding some Strawberries. And Lime juice. And a sugared rim.
If you are having some fun this weekend, I HIGHLY recommend making a batch of these gorgeous cocktails! (If you want to turn these into a non-alchoholic drink, then just add club soda to the simple syrup and lime juice!)
And to continue the giveaway festivities in honor of BOOK WEEK!!! I thought about what else you would need to make some of the recipes in the book. And then I though that an awesome Blender would help you make recipe’s like Artichoke Soup, Caesar Salad Dressing and Blended Pomegranate Margaritas!
So here it is, the Ninja BL660 Professional Blender.
To enter to win this blender, tell me about your favorite cocktail or mocktail!! (It is Thirsty Thursday after all!)

Add the Rhubarb and strawberries and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes.
Put through a fine strainer and dispose of the pulp. The syrup will be bright pink-red. Can refrigerate for up to a week.

St. Germain, champagne, and club soda. Done.

My favorite shooter is the pineapple upside down cake:
1 part Cake vodka (I used Pinnacle I think)
1 part pineapple juice
Put in a shaker of ice and shake shake shake.
Strain into a shotglass with one stemless marachino cherry.
Knock it back!
My favorite cocktail is a Mai Tai! It took me forever to find orgeat syrup in a local liquor store, but that ingredient takes it to a whole new level and is totally worth it! Can’t wait to make these margaritas… tequila might have to be my “summer liquor” this year, yum! 🙂
I’m loving this Thirsty Thursday thing! My favorite cocktail is a blood orange whisky sour with Maker’s Mark whisky. My husband makes the best drinks. He’s so into cocktails that he enrolled in the Manhattan Bartending School a couple of years ago and took the course just as a hobbyist.

I am a whiskey gal at heart and love homemaking cocktails with soulful ingredients. I recently stumbled across the Apple Bourbon Sour: 1 ounce apple-infused bourbon, and 1/2 ounce each lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Fill with soda water and garnish with a lemon twist.
Gin and tonic with extra lime.

I like a mojito when I want something special, but for a hot afternoon there’s nothing better than creme de cassis and sparkling water!

Hi Heather!
Much thanks for this recipe & the giveaway. Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I would have to say that my favorite cocktail that I have concocted would be what my roommate and I call the “Destination”.
It’s delicious, has that little bit of bite, yet sweet at the same time.
2 oz. Whipped Vodka (or Vanilla)
1 oz. Cookie Dough Vodka
1 oz. Coconut Rum
4 oz. Milk (I use Organic 1%)
Chocolate syrup
Caramel syrup
Chocolate sprinkles
Whipped cream (optional)
1)Using free-hand technique, begin by swirling some chocolate sauce and caramel around the inside sides of a martini glass.
1)Combine all liquors together into a shaker filled about half way with ice.
2)Add milk and about a tsp. of choc. syrup.
3) Shake very well until the shaker (if metal) is very cold on the outside (about 45 seconds vigorously).
4)Strain into your martini glass, top with whipped cream and then your sprinkles.
This has a great flavor to it but is not too sweet. When travelling into Ohio, they actually sell a few different types of whipped cream that is alcohol infused. Highly recommended with this if you’re fortunate to get it (PA does not sell it here). 😉
Thanks again for your awesome recipe; I’ll be making it today for my family with some Mexican dishes!
Cheers!
