So I am on the airplane headed to New York right now for 5 days. Pete and I both have to work here and we are combining it with our 8th wedding anniversary which is tomorrow (WOW how 8 years fly!!) My parents are angels and have come to stay with the girls and Wilbur. Wilbur is on to us with all of the traveling stuff. He knows that when the suitcases come out that nothing good comes of it. His anxiety level goes through the roof. He tried to get in the big suitcase. It actually made me feel so sad. Do any of you have tricks to a happy pet when you leave on trips? On a positive note- I am pumped to go to New York and spend time with my man. It’s going to be hot and sunny and we are staying near the park so I can get in lots of beautiful long walks. On a sour note- I forgot my fit bit charger and it just died. Dang it. Can I buy one anywhere do you think- or is this an amazon only thing? Also sad I can’t eat the “cheese platter” on Alaskan Airlines anymore. Pete eats the cheese and crackers, and I eat the grapes. Thank God that Bloody Marys are gluten and dairy free….
So I was just telling a friend that we have never had Memorial Day traditions. Like I imagine that everyone goes camping and boating and has parties, but not us. I suspect it is because Seattle has such terribly unpredictable weather, so no one I know plans anything- unless it is a trip out of town. In true Seattle fashion it was beautiful most of the week and it was drizzling when we left. Just in time for the weekend. Glad we are going to be gone- what are you guys doing? Camping, boating and throwing parties?
Pete sent this to me early last week, and I just was laughing so hard I started crying. It doesn’t really hit its stride till half way through- but oh man.
OMG. Did you here about the Trader Joes hummus re-call? Yuck! Of course I glazed over a headline, threw all my spicy Trader Joes hummus out, and then found out that it only applied to their edamame hummus. Do yourself a favor and make this homemade variety: Edamame Dip.
My dream is that Tracy will some and organize my makeup drawer like this. But that would have to happen after she probably passes out on my bathroom floor from seeing how out of control it is and the fact that it would take 8 of those drawers to hold all my crap. I’m a makeup hoarder and a product junkie…. Tracy. Please help me.
Speaking of beauty stuff… I just keep going more and more red with my hair color. I can’t help myself. I get bored easily and I am extremist. It’s pretty freaking red right now, but I guarantee two weeks from now I will think I need to go more red. Does anyone else suffer from chronic hair color tweaking. Actually, the better question might be does anyone not?! I think every single woman I know loves to get fresh color. It’s like the best thing ever…. What’s your shade?
Ok. I will stop chit chatting and get to this weeks drool worthy recipes from around the web:
I love new and delicious Gluten Free Pizza Crust recipes and this one looks damn good.
This Strawberry Ginger Crisp is beautiful. Added bonus: it’s Paleo
These Bunker Crack Slurp Noodles look like the best thing I have ever seen in my life. I am recreating them gluten-free the second I get home. Obsessed.
Bacon Pineapple Burgers. I am still having an obsession with burgers. #IcanDream
Creamy Peanut Chicken with Brown Rice. I’m still fully into these Asian/Indian flavors. Pete and Pia can’t eat Peanuts and Coco would never eat something this adventurous- which makes it perfect. I could have the whole dish for myself…

My neighbor had to pack her suitcase in her car in the garage so her dog thought she was doing laundry. She probably ran the machine just to throw him off the track. The strawberry crisp on definitely on my list now! Have a blast in NYC! Congrat’s on eight years!
OMG, this made me laugh and laugh Vicki! that is totally something that I would do with the washing machine!!
