Hi Guys- I’m still here at home, mostly in bed. The flu has hit hard around here and Coco and I have been down for the count. I am struggling to work through some of it since I am on a deadline, but jeez- I am wiped.

Hot Toddy

I made this drink last week and ironically now I need one. This is Pete’s solution to illness- booze. Also spicy food. He says that his whole approach is “oh, yeah germs? %&$# me???? NO, %^&* YOU!!” and then down tequila and sriracha. I have to say, it usually works for him so I am going to take a page out of his book and I had this for dinner and now I may have a Hot Toddy instead of my Nyquil tonight…

Recipe: Hot Toddy

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 pinches nutmeg
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 ounces boiling water
  • 4 ounces whiskey
  • 2 lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Divide the honey between two glasses and then add the cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon sticks. Pour the boiling water over the top and stir to dissolve the honey.
  2. Add the whiskey (2 ounces in each) and the lemon wedge. Serve hot.

Preparation time: 5 minute(s)

Cooking time: 2 minute(s)

Number of servings (yield): 2
