I could not help but think about this drink today as we enjoyed a clear sunny day in the 60’s here in Seattle today (I am SO sorry everyone on the East Coast- stay warm).
This drink is obscene. Like it’s so good. That’s why I am going to deem it perfect for Superbowl.
Without giving too much information, I used to drink these when I was very young and wild and I would go down to Mexico for vacation. A shot of Vodka and some lemonade topped off with a light bubbly beer makes for some kind of crazy Arnold Palmer-ish cocktail. And let me tell you from experience- they taste great and go down a little too easy. By the way- I did not name this drink, and I don’t know who did. But refer to my earlier warning that these go down easily.
But they are light and refreshing and a little more exciting than your average beer for the big game this week. I think I am going to be mixing big batches up of these (you need HUGE glasses for these by the way) on Sunday and serving with my White Chicken Chili.
I am sure I will remind you about these this summer, because that is surely another appropriate time for a drink like this. In the mean time we will have to will visions of sun and just enjoy being cozy and warm indoors while we all watch the Seahawks beat the Patriots. #GOHAWKS.

Love it! I’m a sucker for beer cocktails and this looks great. I don’t have an opinion one way or the other on the Super Bowl but I hope your Seahawks win!! Have fun!
Thanks Kate! GOHAWKS!!!
Well Kate back in the 70s there was a Restaurant in Washington, Indiana. Their signature drink was Mojo. Pineapple juice, ( frozen if you can get it if not a large can) orange juice( also frozen or a quart, a full can of beer, and a pint of your favorite blended whiskey. Gallon Jug of course. Close it up tight. Refrigerate over night. OMG. Sounds awful but goes down smooth.
Wasn’t Tuesday wonderful? We needed that sunshine. Wonder if you could use limoncello instead of vodka and lemonade, its basically both :0)
ooooh yes Sheila! YUM!
I just love the name of this!! Too fun!
haha! its good, huh Katrina!?
I loved the warm weather and this drink is perfect for it! Too bad today was more overcast! I can’t wait to make this!
I know Serena- I am SO ready for Spring- it was such a tease!
Heather, I saw one of your images for this recipe used at another website with no credit to you or your blog. Here is the link.

Just an FYI.
I first saw this in Playboy about a half century ago. Same thing except they called for a tablespoon of honey as well.
Wow! I hesitate to think of how many of these I consumed in my youth in CA. Ours were equal parts vodka, beer and lemonade. So happy to know that someone else has memories of those “skip and go naked” days too.
Hi Heather, we think a saloon keeper named Butch McGuire of same name saloon in Chicago created the Skip and Go Naked. https://butchmcguires.com/about-butch-mcguires/.
I enjoyed my one and only Skip and Go Naked at the Edinboro Hotel bar in Edinboro PA in 1968 when I celebrated my 21st birthday.
