Have you ever wanted to quickly chill a bottle of wine so you put in the freezer? Then you may have kind of forgotten about it and when you pull it out you have like a wine slushie, and then you think- wow! This is so good- I should make wine slushies all the time…..
At least, that’s what I think.
And slushies are just like granitas. When I worked as a pastry chef, I used to make a different granita every single day as the palate cleanser. I would create every imaginable flavor under the sun because the beauty of granita is that it doesn’t have to be sweet- it can just be refreshing.
So this is the best of everything here. It’s basically a wine slushie with a little kick of spice and fresh peach juice. SO good. And so easy. Try this for your next Thirsty Thursday!
- 1 large ripe peach, roughly chopped
- 2 teaspoons honey or agave
- 1 fresno red chili, roughly chopped
- 3 cups rose
- Combine all of the ingredients in the jar of a blender and puree until smooth. Pour ingredients into a freezer proof container (I just used a cake pan). Freeze until solid, about 4 hours.
- Use a fork to scrape the granita to a fine slush and then scoop into small bowls or glasses.
