I know this sounds crazy, but I am telling you right now- these are phenomenal.

Originally they were going to be lemon after I found these insane REAL pink lemons at the grocery store (how cool are these!? Did anyone know that these existed?!)

But I just felt like instead of sweet lemonade- it seemed to need a little bitterness and definitely some effervescence. That came in the form of grapefruit soda (I used IZZE brand). But then I added the sour pink lemons too. Basically we had the whiskey, the sweet and bitter and tart grapefruit soda and the sour pink lemons. Besides the fact that it is so pretty it is seriously refreshing and somehow the whiskey and the grapefruit are a really nice pairing.

I even made my mom try this cocktail and it was so good she didn’t want to put it down. One more idea for a lovely autumnal or winter cocktail that you definitely need to put in your arsenal.

Grapefruit Whiskey Sour

A combination of whiskey, the sweet and bitter and tart grapefruit soda and the sour pink lemons creates this pretty and seriously refreshing cocktail.
Ingredients
  • 3 ounces whiskey (I used Makers Mark 46)
  • Cold Grapefruit Soda
  • Lemon wedges
  • Ice
Instructions
  1. Fill the two glasses with ice and add the whiskey and then top with cold grapefruit soda. Add lemon wedges and serve immediately.
