Spring Brunch
Seattle is lovely right now. It may still be grey out, but my garden beds are bursting with green shoots. And the green buds on all of my Spring bulbs are finally starting to show their buds. The gobs of daffodil bulbs that I planted when I was in the last months of my pregnancy with Coco have survived the squirrels, and are blooming for their second year in a row! The daffodils are my favorite Spring flower. As they continue to roll in, I will be posting more arrangements.
We had some of our dearest friends over for brunch on Sunday, and I thought it fitting to decorate the table for our close, (but still elusive!) Spring. I let the colors outside guide my table using bright green and yellow with tiny hits of pink.
The children sat in the kitchen, (I am still a big fan of the “kids table”!) so I felt like I could roll out some more elaborate tableware. However, it is all very casual stuff, just layered in a way to make it feel a little more special.
I also let the colors influence the food. It made for a visually exciting table!

Love the daffodils with the green theme – very fresh and “Springy” …and there is nothing better than a freshly baked croissant!
Heather,
The texture of the table cloth almost seems to mimic the asparagus. Colors are great together. Forgive my not knowing the name, but are those flowers the edible kind I’ve seen before? What’s their name? My favorite is the color combinations in the salad and how they tie in with the table. I’d like to set a table thinking in that direction. I’ve got a bright orange roasted bell pepper and pineapple soup I’d love to see you set a table around. Or maybe I should. 🙂
Mark- Send the recipe over!! I have been thinking about orange lately!
What a beautiful table-setting and menu. Perfect way to kick off spring.
You are an amazing decorator and cook. That color green is gorgeous. I LOVE it. Beautiful – sorry we didn’t make it, I lost the invite 🙁
