These are sliced into the long thin toast strips because they are supposed to be sized for “dipping” in the soft yolk of the soft boiled egg. I have also seen people cut the toast into cute shapes to lay on the plate. However you decide to make your toast, it is delicious with the egg and pancetta!
1 demi-baguette
Butter
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Slice the baguette into thin rounds, and then slice the rounds in half. Lightly spread with butter and place on a cookie sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
