We are up in Whistler getting ready to hike, bike and laze around the pool all weekend. (Follow along on Instagram to see our little mini-vacation!) We drove up here last night and it was quite the 6 hour drive. Luckily I brought along lots of snacks for the family so that we could keep up with the pretty constant demand for food from these two little girls.
I also brought along a batch of these Chocolate Chunk Blackberry Cookies. They are indulgent and delicious Chocolate chunk cookies studded with juicy blackberries and topped with a drizzle of dark chocolate.
What a treat they are!! These are the most wonderful seasonal twist on Chocolate Chip Cookies. (I think they would also be really good with raspberries and almonds, or with cherries) I hope that you give them a try…
Happy Weekend Everyone!!
To make these Chocolate Chunk Blackberry Cookies, this is what you do:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare two sheetpans with silpats or parchment paper. In the bowl of a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and combine well. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda and kosher salt and then add it to the batter.
Add the chocolate chunks and combine well. Scoop onto the prepared sheetpans.
Flatten each cookie with your palm and then nestle a couple blackberries into each cookie. Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes until golden. Transfer to a cooling rack or countertop to cool.
Melt the chocolate and stir with a fork. Drizzle the chocolate over the cookies.
Let the chocolate set up and serve!

You make the most beautiful food! These look and sound so delicious!
Gorgeous cookies! And I can’t get over the blackberry-chocolate combo… in a cookie? Even better!
How fab are these cookies, I love the chocolate drizzle!
seriously lusting after these cookies! have the best time in canada! xoxo
Ugh, gorgeous! Why aren’t there more cookies with berries in them? Seems like such a fantastic idea.
Fascinating innovation, kind of a cookie tart. I wonder what effect roasting has on the blackberries? I always think of berries as being delicate, but in fact blackberries are tough little suckers. Chocolate and blackberries are a divine concept, and one Jim Dodge explored in Baking with… many years ago. Chocolate ice cream with a simple crushed blackberry sauce is a very simple way to explore the combo. I love Heather’s food too. Always beautiful, and she comes up with delicious, slightly off beat dishes consistently with such ease.
The name for these cookies alone had me exclaiming “OMG!”
Such pretty little cookies. Enjoy your trip.
Love this cookie recipe
thanks Liss!
