Saturday Stuff 24
So we are in New York City for a week. Pete, myself and the kids. Both of us had work here, so we shlepped the girls along with us. When I am not working I am trying to walk a lot and get the kids out into the city. Basically the whole thing is a massive workout since I am pushing around a double stroller that must way around 125 pounds. My arms are burning. By the way. Have you ever tried to push a heavy double stroller around Manhattan on busy sidewalks. Not cool at all… I can’t wait till they will just walk without whining- it will seriously change my life. I long to chuck this stroller.
Anyways- We are totally determined to try some new places here since I feel like we almost always revert to our favorite 10 places or so- I will be sure to let you know next Saturday what we loved.
Also, I just have to quickly mention that I am on an obsessed iced tea kick. Like I have been going to starbucks and getting venti, (or what’s that ridiculous size that is bigger than venti?) I just ask for “the largest one” black unsweetened iced tea. I am totally addicted. I think I need to start home brewing…
Can I also mention that I just love a king sized bed? We have been in a queen for the last few months between traveling and living at my parents. I forgot how nice it is to spread out. I really like to spread out in my sleep, and I need that kind of space just to accommodate the 6 pillows that I need to sleep. Plus there is Ac here. aahhhhh….
Ok. Mostly this week I just have a ton of links below to stuff that is making me really, really hungry this week…
Black Blueberry Brown Butter Cake. OMG. Is this not the most beautiful thing ever?
These Fried Onion Pakoras with Tamarind Chutney are blowing my mind!!!
This very simple Summer Pesto Pasta is just lovely.
My mouth is hanging open over this Chocolate & Cherry Meringue Stack Cake {gluten-free}.
How cute are these ice cubes!? I want to make them and have a party.
Sweet and Spicy Siracha Chicken Salad sounds like a lunch I would love to shovel in.
These Vegan Tomato Basil Collard Wraps are weirdly beautiful! I think I have to try this!

Trenta…the largest size at Starbucks is Trenta. That item is also my summer go to bevie when out and about. At home I consistently use Republic of Tea ‘vanilla almond’ for unsweetened iced tea.
Cheers.
What fun! You find the best links ever! My seven year old granddaughter just got a new pair of Sketcher’s sneakers with memory foam and walked the state fair without complaining which is saying something. (They had to be aired out over night in the garage for the intense smell to evaporate) I’ve also been thinking those fit bit things might be great for kids/teens so they can see exactly the correlation between walking, running, etc and being schlepped around. Although there are times I wish someone was pushing me!
I hear you about the iced tea. I’ve been making tons at home and adding whatever herbs from the garden–so good!
