Short and Sweet (Real sweet) for Thirsty Thursday this week. I felt like I kind of had to make some over the top concoction since Halloween is right around the corner. This is like grown up trick or treating junk food.

Chocolate Peanut Butter bacon and Bourbon Milk Shake- dairy freeI kind of took lots of my favorite things and put them all together. In my head the math was perfect. Chocolate + Peanut Butter = my favorite combo ever. Then I needed to put booze in the drink, so what goes well with chocolate and peanut butter? Bourbon of course! Chocolate Peanut Butter bacon and Bourbon Milk Shake- dairy free

But Bourbon and Bacon go together too- actually so do peanut butter and bourbon. And while I have never actually tried that whole chocolate dipped bacon thing- I know it exists and I can’t hate sweet and salty anything.

So here you go- all four of them (plus a coconut whipped cream topping) in a dairy free milkshake that is just as decadent as possible and totally insanely delicious. Happy Thirsty Thursday!

Sweet, Salty and Boozey- the perfect combination for an over the top decadent adult treat.
Ingredients
  • 2 scoops Chocolate Ice Cream (I used Coconut Bliss Vegan, agave sweetened Dark Chocolate Ice Cream)
  • ½ cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 heaping tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 ½ ounces bourbon
  • Coconut Whipping Cream:
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 piece crispy bacon
  • a dash of cocoa powder
Instructions
  1. In the jar of a blender combine the chocolate ice cream and coconut milk. Puree until just blended and smooth. Drop the peanut butter in and the bourbon and pulse a few seconds until the peanut butter is partially mixed in. Transfer to a chilled glass and top with coconut whipped cream, a dash of cocoa powder and a slice of crispy bacon.
  2. To make the coconut whipped cream: in a chilled bowl combine cold coconut cream and sugar and whip with beaters until soft peaks form. You can chill the soft whipped cream to make it firm or use it in soft peaks.
