(these are Orange Raspberry Margaritas)

I am in Mexico soaking up the sun. Well, kind of! It’s not as hot as we would have liked, but still loving every minute of being with Pete and the kids while mainlining Vitamin D.

I just have to tell you that my shingles are pretty much gone and that I am feeling SO relaxed and like this trip was the blessedly timed thing to ever happen. I lie in the shade all day long reading and whale watching and marveling at the Pacific Ocean which breaks its waves right in front of us with mind boggling strength. The whales are my favorite part- some of them will show off for hours in the late morning breeching and putting on a show for everyone. I actually posted a video of this on Instagram– it is really so wonderful to watch!

It turns out that the weather which is unusually cool is plenty warm for us! Today it is raining but it is kind of a nice break. Pete and I went to the spa and the little girls, (who are a little pink around the edges!) are on a board game bender.

Also the FOOD!!! Oh my goodness I have been stuffing myself. Every night I am like, “how can I be any more full?” Everything is just so delicious! And every late afternoon they deliver guacamole and salsa and sipping tequila to the room. Does that sound like trouble or what?

These are my two favorite tequila’s, preferably served over ice: Claseazul and Casamigos. I actually prefer the Claseazul, and Pete goes for the Casamigos (plus he doesn’t like ice and I most definitely do.)

My kids are spending ALL DAY in the pool with their mermaid tails. Have you seen these things? These are pricey, but the kids bought them with their own money after working at some acting jobs this last year and they are obsessed. They can spend 4 hours in the pool making up stories about their imaginary mermaid life. Pia and Coco’s mermaid names are Mermadia and Aquamarine. It’s amazing.

Ok, a few things I always have with me for a beach trip.

Self Tanner. Duh. I always talk about how my natural skin tone is somewhere in the realm of blue tinted fish belly white. (Do you like that visual?) so self tanner is everything to me. My self tanner of choice is St Tropez EXPRESS mousse. I am telling you, I have been self tanning for 25 years (not kidding) and this Express version is better than anything. You only have to wear it for 2-3 hours before you wash it off and it more even and golden than the original by far (in my opinion) also- the smell on your skin is less offensive and doesn’t stick like the original. Tricks are applying it with a “mit” and then I use some Shower to shower talc powder to dust over the sticky areas when I get into my sweats or bathrobe and let it sit. Voila! A perfect golden tan.

Sunscreen. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that golden tan has anything to do with reality! Slap on that sunscreen!!! My favorite fancy brand is Coola. It’s organic and light and smells great!

From the drugstore I always go with Neutrogena. I like the ultra Sheer Dry-touch Sunblock.

Oh, do you Die your Hair? you all probably know this already, but since I did not know this until last year, I will share this tidbit with you. If you happen to color your hair (ahem, most ladies do) be sure to get your hair saturated wet with fresh water before going into the pool or salt water. That makes it so that your hair doesn’t instead soak up the salt or chlorine and ruin your hair color. Pretty easy tip to retain your color, right?!

Don’t forget to follow along with my Mexican Adventures on Instastories! Ok. I’m going to head back to relaxing with my family, but have a great weekend and see you back here on Monday!
