The last few months since Pure Delicious came out have been quite a whirlwind and this last week was no exception.
If you are following me on snapchat you would have seen gotten a peak at everything I was up to. I thought I would share some of the behind the scenes action with you here, and also make sure that I linked to the delicious recipe for the Roasted Tomato and Corn Risotto with Basil Arugula Pesto that I made on the Today show Thursday.
You can find the recipe for this awesome Roasted Tomato and Corn Risotto with Basil Arugula Pesto HERE.
And if you didn’t get to see the (entertaining) segment I did with Kathie Lee and Tony Danza you have got to watch it HERE.
I had so much fun that morning. I have to admit that it was really exciting for me and a long dreamed of opportunity. I love that they let me share Pure Delicious and my style of cooking with the world! Now I just want to go back and do it again.
A top question I have received since I was there “is the wine real?” YES. The wine is real, and I have to say that they drink Kathie Lee Giffords own brand, and the rose I had (just a few sips for me!) was amazing, and I know my wine. I am actually going to pick up a case asap. Everyone was so nice on set and tried hard to make me feel comfortable.
Besides the mayhem over at the TODAY show, I also had the pleasure of stopping by at Mind Body Green, which is a favorite resource, and filming a fun Facebook Live segment where we made Beet Hummus from the book.
Then there was the Kitchn! Another much loved site for me, and it was so fun to hit facebook live with them too.
If you missed it this past May, they graciously shared these recipes from my book:
Zucchini Chickpea fritters
Endive Avocado Salad
Mango Chicken Breakfast Sausage
So then I made it back to Seattle late Thursday night and turned around and did a few segments for KING 5 news. We were talking Olympics fever and I made them the Grilled Skirt Steak with Chimichurri (very Brazil-ish) and Caiprinoska Cocktails. For the US portion I focused on Vodka Lemonade and Fruit Crisp from the book. Only I baked them into mason jars!
It was a busy week, but so much fun. And now I am obsessively watching the Olympics and looking forward to this week when I am popping down to Palm Springs to film a cooking Segment with Danny Seo and doing a Facebook Live on Thursday with my friend Jackie (The Beeroness) and All Recipes– it will be all about Gluten Free Beer!!
After that I better swap the beer for green juice as I get ready for a photo shoot with Nordstroms 10 days from now (gahhh!!!!) I will let you know all about that craziness or follow along with me on snapchat (HeatherChristo) or instagram. I also have some really cool public events coming up this fall and I promise to keep you up to date, as I would LOVE to see you there!
I am leaving you with a round up of links from many of my dear blogging friends who shared recipes from Pure Delicious and wrote reviews. I hope you will pick up a copy of your own if you have not yet- I just know you will love it!!
